“When you are wondering if someone really means all the kind words they give you, remember all the times you’ve held back thank-yous and praise and compliments and phrases that fill spirits with love and wonder… then wonder if maybe the liars are the ones who don’t say those kind things at all.”—
I dream of the summer sun, of learning to surf, of tasting the clouds, of long days spent on the beach, of tending to the garden we had when we were kids, of late night campfires, of going back to “the cove” on Parlée Beach, of being comfortable in my own shoes, of meeting my shadow, of writing songs to the stars, of trekking across the globe, of nestling my own feet into the scorching sands of the Sahara, of ashrams, of helping the planet, of finally loving someone who loves me back, of learning to really play guitar, of baking the most gorgeous and delicious tarts you have ever tasted, of singing duets, of living on a farm, of meeting amazing people from far-off places, of playing in a band, of saying meaningful things, of being crazy and wild and wonderful, of blowing glass, of living alone, of sending postcards, of taking millions of pictures with that beloved soon-to-be-mine Nikon, of playing my songs in front of everyone and not being scared (even the one I wrote for you that I never dared show you), of making new friends out of old ties, of flying kites, of seeing outer space, of curing myself, of curing others, of being able to put anything into a light that makes it beautiful, of finding treasure, of going back to Ottawa, of having nothing left to do, of being in university, of having roommates that love being silly as much as I do, of knowing what skydiving feels like, of being a hero, of tasting strawberries I’ve grown, of dreaming lucid, of stargazing, of riding a motorcycle, of napping under the sky with someone I love, of laughing so hard I cry, of settling down, of having a home to come back to when I’m done.
Summer is about freedom. It’s about the effervescent sunlight, the beautiful sunsets, the starry nights, the long walks, the bike rides and the hours spent wasting time as if you were forever young. Most of all, summer is about self-discovery. If you could spend one summer doing anything with your favourite person, how would you spend it? What would you do?
This is an amazing film project, check it out.
Summer is special to me in so many ways I just had to repost this… :) And so is dreaming, which is what they are all about.
So, a bit of an introduction. My name is Fish. Nice to meet you all!
I am silly, creative and a little bit crazy. I have an affinity for all things out of the ordinary, and as such, I can get a little bit odd myself. I dream of doing so many things I could not possibly live them all in a single lifetime. Also… I’m a happy person. That’s a very important thing in this day and age.
But enough about me, you’ll end up learning all this and more once we get into posting things. :) Hm? I plan to turn this into a giant web inspiration board, so there will likely be no shortage of material. But I promised not to pressure myself into posting this time around, so no promises. You know how it is.
Feel free to look around! I’m sure there will be something to see in the near future.
